In this issue, we dive into the artistry of Benda’s paint schemes.
From the very beginning, Benda has been committed to a meticulous approach to motorcycle design. Traditional paint schemes typically rely on spray painting over a white base, followed by a protective film. At Benda, however, we envision a seamless, amber-like transparency, where the paintwork and the motorcycle’s body merge into a flawless unity. To achieve this, we use paint as the base layer instead of a white substrate, requiring an advanced and complex process.
This innovative approach involves embedding the paint directly onto the surface, combined with multi-layer polishing and clear-coating techniques. For example, in our pursuit to reduce paint thickness by just 0.2mm, we tested dozens of materials and paint thinner formulations. Our relentless pursuit of perfection extends to every aspect of the process. We never compromise between practical adhesion and aesthetic transparency – we demand both. Benda’s Paint Scheme technology has been granted an exclusive patent.
In addition to the seamless integration of paint schemes, many Benda models, such as the Chinchilla family, feature unique design elements like side concave recesses on the fuel tanks paired with teardrop-shaped guards. Benda believes that a fuel tank should not be a monotonous flat surface. Drawing inspiration from the joy of motorcycle design itself, every component should harmonize in a way that is both functional and visually engaging. From a practical standpoint, the recessed fuel tank guards significantly enhance gripping comfort, merging form and function seamlessly.
